Abstract

A methodology is presented, to measure the initial permeability of soft ferrites (Ni-Zn and Mn-Zn); based in the Rowland-ring method. Plots of the  excitation voltages versus the induction voltages of a closed magnetic circuit are obtained by employing a software developed in our work group. The method  allows to calculate the value of the initial permeability using the slope in the lineal zone of these curves. The importance of establishing the experimental conditions for the determination of ?i is fundamental  to restrict the answer in frequency and temperature of the studied materials.
